Folks,
Following that CYBERBRAWL link led to a Corvette sight where I spotted this:
2001 Corvette Z-06
1/4 time is 12.6
0-60 in 4.0 FLAT.
Full topic at:
http://corvetteforum.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/017797.html
GM is keeping wraps on full info until 7/1/2000.
Sounds like another sweet GM big block. (Too bad GM can't spread this magic around outside the Corvette sphere.)
Hey, maybe the deal between Honda and GM could get one of these bad boys in an S2000. Now that would be killer!

Would it really, though? I think Honda engines are better for sports cars. Lightweight, high revs, flat torque curve. I'd rather have a twin turbo NSX motor than a 6 liter 5500rpm gas-gussling beast.

You have a point, but I wouldn't throw 400 pounds of torque out of MY bed!

I got love for all hi-po cars, so an LS1 or whatever with huge output turns me on. Front wheel drive is what I got, but necessarilly the best. Also, torque is a beautiful thing and I want more of it.
My daily driver is a '00 JRSC (+ bolt ons) 4DR GSR with leather, however, my project track car will be a 300Z TT. I love Hondas and all the innovation that has come from this group, but a viper vs. a built & blown daily driven Honda - I'll take the viper.
I still love the imports (all of them - RX-7's, Supra's, and the Untouchables ie. Skylines, Sylvias, WRX's etc...)
BUT - performance is not limited to just imports or domestics (Porches, Beefed up VW & Audi's all, inclusive).
Still - I standby my signature....

Much love to the imports

Well... They are supposed to come out with that LS6 engine. Fairly soon too. Like for 2001.
385hp... with the next phase eclipsing 400. Same basic 350 small block, pushrod setup. Sounds sweet.

I don't know about having a big gas guzzling beast, but I would love to have a Camaro SS with a lingenfelter (spelling) twin turbo setup or a big vortec supercharger!!! Hell with gas mileage too, that's why I will still have my Integra.
VTEC is a nice buzzword that has started to become old technology.. when it comes down to it, if you want the fastest car, there's no replacement for displacement!

I noticed that too. I've been debating on whether to SC my GSR or not, and maybe what I'll do is keep the GSR (NA) as a daily driver and get a 01/02 Vette for FUN!
